Jörg F. Smid

After completion of his studies in Hamburg, Jörg Smid was postgraduate at the University of Lüneburg School of Economics for two years. He started his professional career in 1995.

From the beginning Jörg Smid specialised in the field of unfair competition and copyright law. He has been advising a number of publishing houses on questions of unfair competition and trademark law. One of his fields of specialisation is new media law and data protection law. He has been legal advisor to one of the big international online services as well as to a telecommunication provider in the field of unfair competition and contract law.

Jörg Smid joined DAMM & MANN as a partner in June 2001.

Jörg Smid is a lecturer for civil procedure law at the Viadrina University in Frankfurt/Oder. He is a member of the Association of Publishing House Counsels, the German Association of Intellectual Property, the German Association for Data Protection and Data Security and the German Society for Law and Information Technology.
